Founders

Carmen D. Ortiz,
Ph.D, MBA, CFP

Carmen is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in education, finance, and spiritual transformation. A native of Puerto Rico, she earned her doctorate in education from Texas Woman’s University at the age of 24. After a successful career as a university professor in New York City and as an international consultant, Carmen made a radical career change, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Investment Management from Columbia University in Manhattan.

She worked as an investment banker on Wall Street before founding her own personal financial planning and investment advisory firm, with offices in Manhattan, Miami, and Puerto Rico.

In 2016, Carmen began a profound transformation toward Unity consciousness. Today, she leads the development of BALAM, transcendent financial living communities.

Passionate about democratizing personal finance through the new paradigm of transcendent financial planning, Carmen embodies her life purpose as a “warrior of Unity consciousness, supporting the well-being of the Whole so that humanity and the planet may thrive.”

Co-creator of the emergent ethical-spiritual business model. Psychologist specialist in Clinical/Community Psychology. Certified as an International Life Coach. Completed the CFT-1 financial therapy educational program. Holds a Masters Degree in online education with specialization in virtual communities and digital courses.
